Abstract:
On the basis of a joint analytical framework and a number of research hypotheses developed
by Paffenholz and Spurk, this paper analyzes the role of civil society (with a focus on NGOs)
in the peacebuilding processes in Turkey’s Kurdish conflict. It aims to study the issues that
come into play in an environment in which the conflict is deescalating, and different civil
society functions within the highly-politicized Kurdish conflict in Turkey.
