3. While globalization does not produce democratization in Asia, there is a high
correlation between globalization and anti-corruption in Asia. The relationship is
consistent with the correlation for the world. As mentioned above, however,
democratization may contribute to anti-corruption in Asia.
*** Fighting corruption in Asia will hinge on globalization and democratization. In other
words, globalization, based on transparent government decision-making process
under the watchful eye of a civil society, will eliminate corruption problems in the
future of Asia.
