Assessing Louisiana Professional Development Schools (PDSs) on Student Learning In-service Teachers and Pre-service Teachers (Pre-Katrina) The impact of LA PDSs (Pre-Katrina) specific to higher education accountability on P- 12 student learning and teacher candidate preparation relative to school performance scores and teacher survey data is addressed. The dilemma of staffing the nations' schools with highly qualified professionals who will not retreat in the first five years continues. Professional Development Schools serve as an important variable in teacher preparation to
perceptions of the growth and development of school clinical faculty; and school faculty perceptions of professional preparation and development of teacher candidates; 2) the methods employed in the research; 3) the results of the analysis of both the pilot and follow up studies; and 4) how this model may be used to quantitatively measure results of PDS efforts.
