Abstract:
|
Taking China’s SARS crisis as an example, this study applied public relations and dispute resolution theories to analyze social conflicts and the role of strategic conflict management in public health crisis. The framing analysis of media coverage of the crisis and organization materials confirmed the assumptions of conflict theory and the contingency theory variables influencing the organization’s conflict strategy. Nevertheless, the study found that a third party, the investigative media, played a key role in the evolution of a high-profile public health crisis that challenged strategic conflict management. |
