Abstract:
|
This paper examines the relationship between social movements and public policy. I focus upon groups and organizations as central components in this interaction. Specifically, I explain why centering this study upon LGBT groups makes sense. I begin the paper by theorizing the interaction between social movements and public policy. I also discuss the ways in which social science researchers go about studying groups and organizations and how my study contributes to these perspectives. I then turn to an explanation of four specific areas of inquiry that will be guiding my future research in this area. |
