Abstract:
|
The paper will address the issue of state participation in international institutions. Very frequently, studies of international organisation look at state membership as the most obvious quantitative indicator of state participation in different institutional webs. However, state participation in international institutions varies significantly; as members of individual institutions, states show different degrees of their support to norms and values supported/promoted by those institutions. The paper will attempt to analyse, in the issue-area of human rights, different forms of state participation. It will also seek to map the criteria that can be used for identifying various degrees of state participation in international institutions. |
