Abstract:

This paper examines the ideational structure in which the Irish Army conducts peacekeeping missions and asks if this structure needs to change. It discusses women officer?s role in the Irish Army and asks what difference will it make if there are more women in decisionmaking roles? In particular, what is likely to be the impact of more women officers on the outcome of a peacekeeping mission in which the Irish Army are involved?
