Teacher education program curricula have been subject to criticism over the lack of preparation and practice opportunities of candidates as outlined in the retention studies. In this presentation, important points regarding issues related to initial teacher preparation with examples from a crafted Early Childhood Teacher Education Program will be made, in addition, a few course and field experience will be proposed analyzing the emergent needs of the field as outlined in the standards for teacher education candidates. |
