Abstract:
|
The focus of the proposed paper is the presentation of Part IV of an action research study and project conducted by members of a Professional Development School (PDS). Part IV of the action research video project focuses on answering the following four questions:
(1) Do PDS teacher candidates improve in selected instructional actions and behaviors from their first formal observation to their fourth observation? (2) Do teacher candidate actions in lessons taught in science differ in substantial ways from lessons taught in language arts or social studies at the PDS? (3) Are there discernable performance patterns between part-time student teachers and full-time student teachers at the PDS? (4) How do the teacher candidate video-performance ratings of lessons compare to their supervisor’s ratings of their performance. Findings regarding the above questions will be presented by members of the PDS partnership. |
