Abstract:

Using data from the 2005 National Public Survey on White Collar Crime (a revisiting of the 2000 National Public Survey on White Collar Crime conducted by NW3C), this paper will explore public attitudes and perceptions concerning white collar crime in the present day. Areas of interest include perceived seriousness, public awareness, victim risk behaviors, general experience, and general demographics. This paper will discuss the similarities and the differences between the responses issued for the 2000 survey and the 2005 survey, along with implications for the future.
