Abstract:

This session is designed to explore existing structures of teacher education programs and possibilities for change. Theories of instruction and instructional models used in classroom teaching will be explored.

II: Outcomes and Methods Participants attending this roundtable session will examine the structure of the teacher education program as it exists currently. They will also learn about the ways in which the book club model was used in different courses and its impact on student learning. I anticipate that two layers of understanding would emerge one which pertains to adapting this strategy for other courses; and the second which addresses the larger issue of the ways in which teacher
