Statement of the issue: This self-study addresses the experiences of learning to teach for a new teacher educator and her students in an introductory education foundations course. The study raises questions about we engage potential educators in their introductory coursework. As a new teacher educator the instructor of the course was interested in facilitating experiences for beginning educators that encouraged consideration of
how to support themselves and beginning teachers in addressing rather than shying away from the complexity of teaching and learning. B. Methods: The study will be presented briefly. The presenter will share research methodology and findings from the study.
