Abstract:
|
The objective of this study was to quantitatively determine and evaluate the attitudes of young adults in two middle Georgia institutions of higher learning in regards to their acceptance of the rights due to homosexual individuals. The sample consisted of 337 college students who were surveyed during the 2004-2005 academic school year. Most of the significant differences revealed between/among the groups were found with the descriptor variables of gender and partisan membership. Race/ethnic origin and religious affiliation did not produce as many significant differences among the subsets. Acquaintance with/knowledge of a lesbian and/or gay individual was an additional determinant of attitudes. |
