Abstract:

Essential in teacher preparation is the candidates' practice in field sites. The purpose of this study is to identify P-12 field sites using school climate indicators that are aligned with the values of teacher preparation programs.

Section I: Content Statement of the issue: An essential component of a teacher preparation program is the identification and use of appropriate field sites for teacher candidates. The ability of teacher preparation programs to determine to suitability of these sites requires an assessment of the sites to determine their appropriateness. This leads to the need of the program to develop an acceptable assessment instrument to insure alignment of the values and practices of the field sites with the values
process of determining field sites for their candidates. The study will also describe the process of the collection analysis and dissemination of the data. Moreover this will also lead to teacher preparation programs analyzing their role in school change and reform by the examining school climate indicators. Methods: Our presentation will encourage the participants to examine the instrument and the field site data. The participants will be asked to analyze the data and determine the interconnectedness of the findings.
