Publication Type: Conference Paper/Unpublished Manuscript Review Method: Peer Reviewed Abstract: Text 1) This text describes the various situations of detention of foreigners in Europe, the US (and possibly Australia) and analyses them through the theoretical framework of Foucault, Nancy, Agamben. It discusses critically the notion of state of exception and permanent state of emergency in relation to the routinised practices of detention of foreigners.Further, it develops the notion of a specific dispositif which is different from the pan-opticon and the prison, the one of the Ban-opticon where the center of detention of foreigners informs us about the practices of domination in a globalised world. |
