Abstract:

Does 'interest' lead to construct a new 'identity'? Or does 'identity' define 'interest'? This is a fundamental question behind the debate between 'rationalist' and 'constructivist' conception of international relations. By analyzing China's actions in the Six-Party Talks on North Korean nuclear issue, this study tries to answer the question.
