Abstract:

In this paper I map and assess different and divergent Israeli views of the Oslo peace process between Israelis and Palestinians of 1993-2001, as reflected in the memoirs and interviews of its Israeli protagonists. A mapping of the different views and approaches will find at least three different ideal-types: (a) an empathic/conciliatory approach; (b) an antagonistic/confrontational approach; and (c) a pragmatic approach.
