There were four indexes with significant correlations to be included in the
regression related to middle management enthusiasm toward CQI. The four
indexes included were CQI elements/activities, insufficient management
support, insufficient personnel/training and insufficient resources. Results of the
regression showed that these four indexes could account for only 33% of the
variance related to middle management enthusiasm. However, only one of
these indexes, CQI elements/activities was found to be significant in multiple
regression.
Next, regressions were run to determine what factors have an impact on
non-management enthusiasm toward CQI. The two indexes with significant
correlations in bivariate analysis were CQI elements/activities and insufficient
personnel/training. These two indexes account for only 24% of the variance of
non-management enthusiasm related to CQI. Of these two indexes CQI
element/activities was found to be most significantly related in multiple
regression.
The final regression related to physician enthusiasm toward CQI. For this,
the following five indexes were found to have significant bivariate correlations
and were included in the regression: CQI elements/activities, insufficient
resources, insufficient management support, percent physicians and senior
managers trained in CQI. These five indexes account for 46% of the variance
related to physician enthusiasm. Once again, CQI elements/activities was
