The university offers a comprehensive teacher induction program with NBCT leadership. The program supplements school supports with web and campus-based activities that focus on teacher success and student achievement.

Section I: Content A. Statement of the Issue: Colleges and universities that prepare educators for work in schools are compelled to follow their graduates as they begin their teaching careers to bridge the transition from preparation to induction into the profession. In earlier years conducting annual surveys of graduates and their employers was the basic expectation. Now in recognition that preparation programs only begin the development that must be continued as teachers enter the classroom and are immediately held
(a) brainstorming ways in which university and school partners can contribute to various aspects of the program (b) discussing ways in which democratic principles can be promoted through various aspects of the program (c) determining which common strategies are supported by research and (d) identifying enablers and barriers that can help or hinder a collaborative induction program.
