This presentation will describe how P-12 educators and university-based teacher educators worked together as equal partners in developing and delivering coursework in an urban teacher education program.

Preparing Teachers for Urban Schools through a P-12/Higher Education Co-Teaching Model Content Statement of the Issue The preparation of urban teachers requires extensive collaboration between teacher educators in higher education and practitioners in P-12 schools. The discourse regarding this collaboration has largely focused on the field experiences of teacher candidates with proportionately little attention given to P-12/higher education collaboration in the development and delivery of the coursework that is also a vital part of teacher education programs.
