Abstract:
|
This paper examines the relationship between terrorism and human rights from the perspective of the People's Republic of China (PRC). China's continuing support for the war on terror has had implications not only for its relations with other states but also for the relationship between the Chinese government and its people. It demonstrates how China has used its support for the international war on terror both to cope with an immediate domestic problem, ethnic nationalism in Xinjiang, and to lay an internationally sanctioned basis for dealing with future domestic instability. |
