Abstract:
|
In this paper, I begin an initial examination of the ISSP 2003 National Identity Survey using the techniques of an entailment analysis to extract logically implied cognitive structures within the relationships between the questions asked. The results cluster the countries by similarities in the networks extracted from the survey responses. This method produces a new way of looking at multinational survey data that incorporates micro level differences in cognitive structure into a macro level comparison. The networks are extracted for each of the 33 countries in the survey, and the results are compared and clustered into groupings based on differences in these networks. |
