Abstract:

This paper discusses and criticises the basic assumptions of the Routine Activity Theory, particular its situational
model (the converegence of motivated offenders, likely targets and capable guardians), and offers an alternative
situational model that are more apt to deal with the influence of behavioural contexts in crime causation.
