Abstract:

In the present study, I investigated mother's retrospective accounts of relational turning points that occurred between themselves and their adolescent daughters between the ages of 13 and 18. Rrespondents participated in a retrospective interview (RIT) that was designed to allow mothers to discuss relational turning points and their embeddedness in relational closeness. I identified three supra categories of relational turning points: Stressful Events, New Transitions, and Joint Activities.
