Abstract:
|
The current study focuses on the association of conversation and conformity orientations of families and the expression or regulation of emotional communication. The positive and negative outcomes of expression and regulation of emotion are discussed. Family members who continually choose not to express their feelings may be in danger of negative cognitive and interpersonal consequences. Family members who competently express emotion may have the advantage of higher ratings of interpersonal attraction and trustworthiness. |
