Abstract:
|
Much white collar crime literature aptly pertains to the subjects of types of offenses, offenders, and sentencing practices, but very little includes empirical data on the knowledge base and social learning for understanding and being informed about white collar crime. This study examines a 200-person nonprobability sample concerning the role of social learning and beliefs about white collar crime (since those beliefs are often based on mythical perceptions). Numerous variables are correlated to the dependent variable of knowledge of white collar crime in order to gain additional insight into public perceptions about this body of criminal offenses. |
