Abstract:
|
Main print and electronic media of Ghana and Nigeria were identified. Political and sociocultural issues embedded in these media’s content were examined. Discussions of media forms and contents considered how global and local media interacted in Ghana and Nigeria to create images that contradict empirical social relations. Evolving media relationships suggested a new era of global communication controlled by transnational media corporations affiliated with local government officials and media industries whose primary interests are commercial. |
