Abstract:

One of the key components of SVORI was the provision of targeted services and treatment based on offender assessments. This paper explores three topics. First, using data from the offender surveys, the degree to which the SVORI participants exhibit better service matching than comparison subjects is presented. Second, factors that predict whether service matching occurs are offered. Finally, the effect of receiving matched services on a specific post-release outcome (drug use) is discussed.
