The Effectiveness of College Based Rape Education Programs in Changing Attitudes and Preventing Crime

Abstract | Word Stems | Keywords | Association | Citation | Get this Document | Similar Titles

Abstract:

Rape education prevention programs have become quite commonplace on many college campuses. Evaluations of these programs have continued to increase. Results from past evaluations have indicated mixed results for college based rape education programs that use the outcome variables 'attitude change' and 'incidences of sexual assault' to measure the effectiveness of the program. These findings can be due to problems in the program implementation and evaluation, such as dosage, diffusion of treatment and a short follow-up period. This paper provides an analysis of past rape education programs and evaluations, as well as suggestions for future program implementations and evaluations.
