Abstract:

Consistently, black voters support the Democratic Party at a 90 percent level. Therefore, black voters often claim that the Democratic Party often takes their political support for granted because usually the black vote is considered a lock for the Democrats. Conversely, the GOP realizes that its competitiveness relates to its ability to compete viably for the support of black voters. One benefit and requirement of popular government is that the people have choices. The most efficient means of presenting and delivering these choices is through political parties. If black voters believe that only one political party has a responsibility to persistently seek their political support and exhibit responsiveness, definitely, black politics in America is dysfunctional and America politics is not operating optimally for a significant segment of the population that possess a symbolic and substantive connection with political oppression and disenfranchisement. Directly and indirectly and constructively and destructively race has played a role in American politics. Conversely, popular government working optimally means that there are at least two parties validly competing in the political sphere, i.e., parties offering choices to all of the citizens. This research measures the impact of the GOP’s effort to recruit three legitimate black Republican nominees, the Republican Party on its share of the black vote between the two major parties. |
