Abstract:
|
The role of late-night comedy viewing in fostering debate viewing and interpersonal political discussion is explored in this study. In addition, debate viewing is hypothesized to be a mediator of the relationship between late-night comedy viewing and interpersonal political discussion. Finally, rivaling hypotheses (gateway hypothesis versus framing shifting) are tested to determine how candidate issue knowledge moderates the relationship between late-night comedy viewing and debate viewing. |
