Abstract:

Some research indicates that inequities in the health care system are related to attributions public health workers make of clients. This study investigated public health employees’ perceptions of different groups to provide formative research for future interventions, using the social norms theory and the theory of planned behavior. Results indicated misperceptions and barriers may be preventing employees from engaging in remedial actions. Findings from this research can be used in future campaigns.
