This paper proposes a facilitative leadership style, which takes an unabashed focus on communication structures and processes, and offers not only an additional theoretical framework for leadership, but also additional devices for leaders to foster team effectiveness. Facilitative leaders employ communicative “tools” and manage communication processes to facilitate collaborative interaction (or teamwork) within teams in order to increase a team’s ability to perform at the highest level in a variety of different tasks. |
