Abstract:
|
Students experiencing challenges upon returning to their native culture after a foreign country sojourn are analyzed through surveys (n=105). Results show students returning home from sojourns experience altered native culture perceptions, and U.S. students experience higher reverse culture shock than their Japanese counterparts. Difficultly adjusting to a host culture is related to readjusting to one’s home culture. Communicating with one's home culture social networks does not seem related to home culture readjustment. |
