In an effort to increase opportunities for its students, one Midwestern state is currently in its second cycle of funding summer STEM and foreign language academies for high school students. The academies offer dual-credit (both high school and college), on-campus experiences for students followed by school-year experiences. This research describes two unique academies, one in science and one in math. The researchers compare and contrast the experiences of the students in the academies, share the lessons learned, and suggest possibilities for future STEM education partnerships. |
