Human Rights and the United Nations Response to International Terrorism Abolfazl Masoumi Abstract People generally think that the implementation of human rights will remove conflict from societies and bring peace to nations. Focusing on the United Nations’ response to international terrorism this paper intends to make the relationship between human rights and peace "enigmatic". An analysis of the UNGA and UNSC resolutions shows how the UN has interpreted international norms and principles in particular human rights in managing terrorism.
