Abstract:

By employing the concept of multiple constituencies into market orientation theory, this paper develops a theoretical framework of multiple stakeholder orientation (MSO). Next, an empirical study about MSO and its impact on organizational performance is conducted on one of key NPOs in China- blood organizations, data was collected from Guangdong, Guangxi, Hubei, Fujian, Shanxi and Xinjiang. The result shows that (1) both the degrees of employee orientation has positive effects on internal organizational performance, including employee satisfaction and organizational commitment; (2) Internal stakeholder organizational performance has positive effect on external orientation; (3) external orientation has positive effect on external stakeholder organizational performance. This paper broadens current market orientation theory, and gives a new “employee orientation - internal organizational performance - external stakeholder orientation - external organizational performance” framework about the relationship between market orientation and organizational performance.
