Publication Type: Conference Paper/Unpublished Manuscript Review Method: Peer Reviewed Abstract: These theories allow teachers to understand why some students struggle in math no matter how many times the concept is repeated or explained. When we teach mathematics, what we are really teaching are only the most superficial aspects of math, i.e. specific values, formulas, and methods. Applying these theories in the classroom will help students construct a better, thorough understanding of mathematical relationships and the reasoning behind the relationships. |
