Abstract: This paper analyzes the connection between religious morality and its affect on foreign policy. Using the Carter administration and the current Bush administration, this paper examines the religious principles both presidents brought to the White House and how their moral philosophies affected their administrations' foreign policy decision making. While both presidents' religious views implied a national morality, the inpertretation of each conviciton appears to rest at opposite ends of international relations theory.
