1. Wiliarty, Sarah. "How Party Organization Influences Policy Making: Christian Democrats and Women in Austria and Germany" Paper presented at the annual meeting of the Western Political Science Association, Marriott Hotel, Oakland, California, Mar 17, 2005 Online <.PDF>. 2009-11-27 <http://www.allacademic.com/meta/p87362_index.html>

Review Method: Peer Reviewed
Abstract: This paper argues that the policies of the Austrian People’s Party and the German Christian Democrats differ because of the different structures of the women’s organizations within the two parties. While both parties have auxiliary organizations for women, the women’s auxiliary organization in the German Christian Democratic party is significantly stronger than its Austrian counterpart. This difference in organizational strength does not mean that one Christian Democratic party’s policies should be considered more feminist than the other’s, but it does mean that different women within the party are able to enact their policy agendas.
