Abstract: Social dominance theory has posited that a dominance orientation has been a tool for White men to maintain power. With the advent of affirmative action and other societal shifts, White women have made gains in their access to cultural institutions. This study is interested in understanding how womanist identity and white racial identity will affect the social dominance orientation of white women.
