"Survey Says: Evaluating Community Partners, Service-Learning Students, and Service-Learning Instructors over a Six-Year Time Frame" Paper presented at the annual meeting of the NCA 94th Annual Convention, TBA, San Diego, CA, <Not Available>. 2009-12-06 <http://www.allacademic.com/meta/p255991_index.html>Publication Type: Invited Paper Abstract: This project assesses the qualitative and quantitative data that our Citizenship and Service-Learning Office (CASL) has accumulated over the last six years from surveys administered to community partners, service-learning students (component and integrated) and service-learning instructors across the university. The researchers examined other service-learning surveys that were available throughout the state (through Missouri Campus Compact) and throughout the country (through the International Association for Research on Service-Learning and Community Engagement-IARSLCE) and compared and contrasted these surveys to our own CASL office’s surveys. Rationale is provided for improving the four CASL surveys so that Missouri Campus Compact can utilize the surveys throughout the state. The quantitative and qualitative data from these surveys is used to diagnose the perceived SL impact on our community partners and students, prescribe opportunities for improvement, and acknowledge the efforts and positive outcomes of both our students and our community partners in this affiliation. |
