Abstract: In-depth interviews with 33 parents of children with disability (8 African-American, 10 Latino, and 15 Caucasian parents) serve as a basis for an examination of parents' perspectives of the collaboration process following diagnosis of disability in a child. A model of parent adjustment will be presented with applications for fostering home-school collaboration.
