Abstract: This study reports on findings from a statewide survey of school principals that examined the nature and quality of certification programs. Results indicate that when participants were certified (pre/post NCLB) and where they were certified (public/private/alternative) has a significant influence on the content and quality of their preparation. Implications include the development of essential skills and specific courses that match the new accountability demands on school leaders. |
