Abstract: America consume's 80-85% of the Ritalin produced in the world, and an estimated 3-5% of all American children take Ritalin and other psychostimulants. In contrast, the same is true of only 0.04% of French children. What accounts for such drastic differences? This paper tries to shed light on the issue by comparing the treatment practices in both countries.
